1. About Pairloom

Pairloom is a learning app that helps you master any topic through pair-matching games. You can create custom catalogs of word pairs, use AI to generate content, and track your learning progress.

2. Data We Collect in Pairloom

2.1 User Content

• Catalogs: Custom catalogs you create, including names, descriptions, and pairs
• Progress Data: XP, levels, streaks, achievements, and mastery tracking
• Settings: App preferences, theme choices, and notification settings
• Groups: Organizational groups for your catalogs

2.2 Gameplay Data

• Session statistics (pairs solved, time, accuracy)
• Game mode preferences
• Difficulty adaptation metrics

2.3 AI Generation Data

When you use AI to generate catalogs:

• Your topic, instructions and any catalog content needed for the requested operation are sent through our Supabase function to Google Gemini AI.
• Technical request information and usage counters are processed to verify Pro access, enforce quotas and diagnose errors. Do not include sensitive personal data in your prompts.
• Generated content is stored locally and optionally in cloud sync

3. Data Storage

3.1 Local Storage (Default)

By default, all your data is stored locally on your device using SQLite. This includes catalogs, progress, settings, and gameplay data. Online features such as AI generation, account sign-in, subscriptions and cloud backup process the data described in this policy.

3.2 Cloud Sync (Pro Feature)

If you enable cloud sync:

• Your data is encrypted and uploaded to Supabase (AWS infrastructure)
• Data is associated with your account (Google Sign-In)
• You can restore your data on any device
• You can request deletion of your cloud account and associated data as described below. Cancelling a subscription does not itself delete your account.

4. Advertisements

Pairloom displays advertisements to free users via Google AdMob. These ads may use device identifiers and cookies to serve personalized content.

You can:

• Opt out of personalized ads in the app settings
• Upgrade to Pro to remove all advertisements
• Manage ad preferences through your device settings

5. In-App Purchases

Pairloom Pro subscriptions are processed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions.

We receive:

• Subscription status (active, expired, trial)
• Product purchased and pricing
• Anonymous subscriber identifiers

We do NOT receive your payment details (credit card, etc.). These are handled securely by Apple or Google.

6. Notifications

Pairloom may send local notifications for:

• Daily streak reminders (if enabled)
• Learning goal reminders (if configured)
• Achievement celebrations

You can manage notification settings within the app or through your device settings. Notifications are generated locally and do not require internet.

7. Offline Functionality

Pairloom is designed to work fully offline. All core features including gameplay, progress tracking, and catalog management work without an internet connection.

Features requiring internet:

• AI-powered catalog generation
• Cloud backup and sync
• Account sign-in/sign-out
• Subscription verification

8. Data Export and Deletion

8.1 Export Your Data

You can export all your Pairloom data (catalogs, progress, settings) from the app settings. Data is exported in JSON format.

8.2 Delete Your Data

To delete your Pairloom data:

• Local data: Uninstall the app or use "Clear Data" in settings
• Cloud account and data: Use Settings → Account → Delete Account in Pairloom, or request deletion on the web if you no longer have access to the app.

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel it separately through the store where you subscribed. Data that must be retained for legal or security reasons is limited and handled as described in this policy.

9. Age Restrictions

Pairloom is designed for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy as Pairloom evolves. Significant changes will be communicated through the app. The "Last updated" date indicates the most recent revision.
